How to Uninstall Chrome, Microsoft Office, Adobe and Steam From a Mac Completely

Quick answer: Quit the app, remove it with its own uninstaller where one exists (Adobe Creative Cloud, Steam games), or drag it to the Trash, then delete the leftover folders in your Library. Chrome leaves profile data, Office leaves group containers, Adobe leaves shared support files, and Steam keeps downloaded games.
These four are among the biggest leftover sources. For the general method see App Cleaner for Mac: Free Ways to Uninstall Apps and Remove Leftovers.
At a glance
| App | Best removal method | Main leftovers |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome | Trash, then Library folders | Profile, cache, preferences |
| Microsoft Office | Trash, then containers | Group Containers, Containers |
| Adobe Creative Cloud | Creative Cloud app uninstall | Shared Application Support files |
| Steam | Uninstall games in Steam, then Trash | Downloaded games in Application Support |
Google Chrome
Quit Chrome.
Drag Google Chrome from Applications to the Trash.
To remove your profile, delete ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome. This deletes bookmarks and saved data that are not synced, so sign in to sync first if you want to keep them.
Delete ~/Library/Caches/Google/Chrome and the preferences file com.google.Chrome.plist in ~/Library/Preferences.
Microsoft Office
Quit all Office apps.
Drag the Office apps from Applications to the Trash.
Microsoft's removal steps also delete the Office folders in ~/Library/Group Containers and the com.microsoft folders in ~/Library/Containers.
Empty the Trash and restart.
Be careful: removing Office containers deletes locally stored Office data, such as custom dictionaries and templates.
Adobe Creative Cloud
Open the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app.
Find the app in the list, open its menu, and choose Uninstall.
After removing everything, you can uninstall Creative Cloud itself with its own uninstaller.
Check ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe for leftovers. Adobe apps share some files, so leave this folder if you still use any of them.
Steam
In Steam, right-click a game in your library, choose Manage ▸ Uninstall.
To remove Steam itself, quit it and drag Steam to the Trash.
Games and data live in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam. Deleting this folder removes all downloaded games and saved settings.
Automatic cleanup
If you do not want to hunt folders, the App Cleaner in MacCove Space finds an app's leftovers and lets you review them before removal.
